The Ettringer Bellerberg and the Kottenheimer Büden form together the east and west flanks of the Bellerberg volcano. From the summit you have a wonderful view of the East Eifel volcanoes – the crater of the Kottenheimer Büden offers detailed insight into the origin of the volcano. The idyllic quarry scenery at Kottenheim offers you a good view of the largest of the three Bellerberg volcano lava streams. The basalt lava here has been put to use for over 2000 years.
