Montana del Golfo
Location: 28°59' N, 13°50' W
Elevation: 157 m
The Tuff-Crater
Montana del Golfo was cut by
the sea surf and formed by wind
erosion in the soft ahs layers.
To the sea side, there has been
a
barrier beach of black volcanic sand formed, behind lies a lagoon with green water. The intense
colour contrast between the green water, black sand, yellow and red ash layers and the sapphire
sea and sky creats a very peculiar mood .
